Cartoon-ish characters, refreshing maps and terrains, and a solid storyline are what sets Maplestory 2 from the rest of the pack. This free-to-play MMORPG brings the same entertaining and fun quests, NPCs, and mobs players have come to love from its prequel, Maplestory. For beginners who are looking to download and play the game soon, here’s a comprehensive guide to get you started.
As mentioned earlier, the game’s backdrop is what makes it consistently interesting. While the game does serve as a sequel to the original, the story predates the events of Maplestory wherein the origins of all earthly life, time, and space are being managed by powerful sages. However, dark forces manage to break the balance thus placing the world in utter chaos.
Creating Your First Character
After you’ve downloaded the required files from the online game store, it’s time to create your first character. Character customization is a robust field, with the ability to change gender, hair, eyes, skin colour, and even facial features. Clothing can also be changed for both upper and lower bodies. It’ll be difficult to find other characters who look exactly like you. At the time of writing, you are allowed a maximum of five characters. Names must be 3 to 12 letters long and contain no special characters.
Familiarizing Yourself With the UI
Compared with its predecessor, the sequel no longer has that bulky information box that used to reside at the bottom of your screen. You’ve got the mini map at the top right corner, the chat box on your left bottom corner, the skill and item box at the bottom centre which contains your hotkeys and your HP/SP/EP bars. The latter is less common in MMORPGs, and is used for action skills.
Identifying Job Classifications
If you’ve played MMORPGs before, this part is probably the most exciting. Choosing your job will greatly impact how you play the game later on. There are four main classes in Maplestory 2, namely Warrior, Magician, Archer, and Rogue. Each primary class has two respective sub-classes. Warriors can level up into either a Berserker or Knight, Magicians into a Priest or Wizard, Archers into a Ranger or Gunner, and Rogues into a Thief or Assassin. Needless to say, each primary and sub class will imbue your character with a different set of skills or abilities.
Collecting Equipment and Mounts
In-game equipment include hat, earrings, belts, shirts and pants, rings, capes, shoes, and of course weapons. Each wearable equipment bestows additional stats, such as increased magic damage or reduced elemental damage. This gives players the ability to switch armour sets to suit their current activity, whether they are farming an area or battling in PvP combat. Mounts are another interesting cosmetic item you can equip to your character. Different mounts exist in-game, such as ducks and cars.
The guide above is only but a fraction of what the game offers. You’ll also be learning about guilds and parties, black market, binoculars, treasure chests, mysterious hats, and more. Download the game for free and start testing out what you’ve learned here.
So, you’ve finally decided that a Human Mage, Dwarf Pally or a Night Elf Druid was the way to go, and you are ready to start your adventure into the realm of the World of Warcraft game. First, great choice! WoW has always been a fun, interactive game and while some might find it hard to save up enough gold for the bigger ticket items, it doesn’t have to be a struggle.
Depending on the class you really chose, you want to pick a profession or professions that will not only compliment your skills, but can also yield your greatest earning potential. Unless you are a seasoned player with a multiple number of high number characters to help bank roll you, there are a few of these professions you also want to stray from.
1. Farming Can Be More Than Crops.
Most people that play WoW already know that learning and upping your cooking and fishing skills are a big pain in the butt. However, along with those skills come daily quests and by extension, extra gold for your bags. Besides, fishing for certain schools of fish, or gathering extra wolf meat could certainly pay off on the auction block.
2. Choose Two Gathering Professions.
If you want to be able to concentrate on the game play, levelling your character and exploring all that the dungeon life has to offer, you may want to consider being a professional gatherer to earn a living. Herbalism, Mining, and Skinning are all professions that simply require you to pay attention to your map and your kills. Once you train in any of these particular primary professions, turn on the tracking of herbs or mines and monitor your game map for a mark when there is one near. Not to mention that each one will give you an extra boost to your character’s stats in strength, critical strike or healing options. They are also very bankable at the auction house. Place multiple stacks of all you gather and watch the money roll in. Keep in mind that you want to keep your prices competitive or sell the more rare materials.
3. Stay Away from Engineering, Inscription and Jewelcrafting.
All three are valuable professions, but if you are solely looking to make some gold, they will quickly deplete your pocketbook. Levelling these particular professions are also a bit tedious. So, you may be better off purchasing items you need within those from auction or other players, and stick with the farming of mats.
4.Archeology – FTW!
The other “secondary” profession you NEED to train is Archeology. Once you hit level 20, you can train it any of the major cities. Not only does it help you level your character, but some of the artifacts you piece together are worth some serious gold.
Regardless if you are a novice or advanced player in the World of Warcraft game, making gold is crucial to your success. Quests and selling extra gear is always good for a few coins, but if you want sustainability in your gold count, it is recommended to turn your toon into a farm and have at it. Just buy yourself a bit of time with a prepaid WOW subscription card and start playing. If you follow the guidelines and are diligent farmers, you are sure to have more gold than you know how to spend. Happy gaming!
Runescape is one of the oldest and best MMO games in the history of gaming. A lot of players talk about World of Warcraft as the starting MMO, but a lot of old school gamers first got hooked on MMOs with the start of Runescape. Runescape 3 is the latest expansion into this world, and it takes the game’s graphic to a new level. What is nice about this game is that you are not held back by class. For example, if you choose to level your magic, you can strictly level up your magic skills, but you can also fight with melee. A mage can wear plate armor, which is something that you could never do in some of the other MMOs.
The great thing about this game is the expansiveness of it. For example, you have combat fighting, but you can also go mine coal outside the city of Varrock. If you ever have a quest that you are struggling to complete, one of the things that you can do is to look it up online. Many times, you will find a walk through for your specific quest. Looking for a profitable skill? If so, Slayer is one of the most popular and profitable skills in Runescape. Slayer is a members only skill, so you will need a Runescape prepaid card to play. With the Slayer skill, you will be assigned a specific amount of a certain monster to kill. This could range from spiders to the mighty Nihil. As you advance in the skill, you will unlock new monsters, but a lot of them will require special items. Most of the Slayer assigned monsters will be found in the Slayer dungeons or the Chaos Tunnels. A lot of people prefer to kill the higher leveled monsters because it gives you greater challenge, but it will also give you improved loot.
How can you make gold in Runescape? This normally involves two types of trading. First, you have investing at the Grand Exchange. However, you have to be aware of the street values and the item’s market value. Oftentimes, an investor will feel that the item’s value is not truly represented at the Grand Exchange. In some cases, this works in your favor where you can buy it and sell it for more. In other cases, you want to steer clear of it. You can trade items bought at the Grand Exchange in trade worlds, but you can also head to the forums and arrange for trades there.
When you check the offers at different locations, you can find the wider price range to help generate the greatest profit. The second form of investing is called flipping where you buy an item for as little as possible while selling it for as much as possible within a couple hours. This is only recommended if you have plenty of starting cash, such as 10M gp. In some cases, it can be difficult to buy an item for below price and sell it above the guided price. What makes Runescape a wonderful game is that it is a fully fledged-out world that has an economy and many other things to offer SEA gamers. Check it out, and you will not be disappointed.
